My art practice is primarily landscape painting. A constant study of the landscape evolves from drawing and sometimes gathering of material. I produce works that develop from the world around me.
My style of work ranges from expressive drawing and painting to detailed studies in a variety of media. I'm fixated by colour and shapes that intrude on the landscape. I am influenced by greats such De Kooning, Guston, and Giacometti. Whilst I am happiest in oils, I have a current fetish for gouache.
I have been formally trained in visual arts and have built a solid body of work from 2005. I am driven by the world around me and constantly educate myself through reading and writing about art.
