About

Specialising in handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces to enhance your day. A beautiful timber spoon to serve your food or stir your favourite drink. A dry bud vase to hold a treasure collected on your walk. A little bird to admire.

Stylised hand carved timber objects inspired by the sleek lines of Mid-Century Modern and Scandi minimalist design. Carved from salvaged wood (mostly) the pieces feel beautiful to touch and hold or just admire. Experimenting with different timbers and natural finishes, I've been making pieces that feel beautiful to touch, and smell of the raw timbers they're made from. I love hunting for wood with an exaggerated graphic grain to enhance the look of the object I'm carving.

I'm Rachel, and I’m the ultimate multi-hyphenate creator. A graphic designer/ interior architect, I began my career behind the scenes in the film industry making props and now I'm a self-confessed whittling addict! I like carving neat-n-tidy little things – though the pieces are getting bigger as my confidence grows. I took up carving as an escape from the stress of our crazy world, and it wasn't long before I noticed just how much it enhanced my wellbeing. Just like swimming laps at the pool or walking in nature, carving is pure meditation in motion and at the end of each day, I can't wait to put down the computer mouse, pick up a knife and get whittling.
