About
I have spent 1000s of hours at ground level in the forests around Shellharbour, noticing small details and the way the light changes throughout the day, memorizing leaf shapes, botanical details of flowers and fruits, different bark textures and the life that weaves it all together. I am drawn to technical drawing, bold lines and bright bursts of colour which I've experimented with my whole life. I'm at a point in my life where my work life is embedded in my creativity, they have become almost one in the same and I am enjoying exploring how the two integrate into each other.
I use a blend of natural light photography, acrylic paint and fine line drawing to produce work that is heavily influenced by patterns in nature.
I love the colour spectrums seen in skyscapes at the start and end of the day and these colours heavily influence the colours I use to contrast with bold black line work. I am still experimenting with different media, and have began to learn how to produce designs digitally using Procreate. I also keep my designs simple so they can transfer to silk screen printing which is the perfect media for me to bring together the colour and contrast that I seek to create in my work.
