About

Nathan is an Australian landscape photographer based in Gerringong, on South Coast of NSW, Australia.

Growing up in Gerringong, I fell in love with the coastline and countryside. It wasn't until my early 20’s that I developed a passion for photography. My background in dairy farming has given love for the night sky and colour of dawn and dusk.

Planning of an image starts with an idea, place, time or impression. This helps me capture the mood and essence of the image. I have always thought of the lens as a brush to capture the structure of an image and developing the images with editing software as my palette to bring out the colours as I see them and give the image life.

I have found that printing on to aluminium complements my work brings out the depth and vibrancy.

I'm a self taught photographer who grew up and worked on our families dairy farm at Toolijooa, Gerringong. I developed my passion for photography after years of waking up a 4am and seeing early morning sky. I took my first photograph in 2003, in 2004 I join the Kiama-Shellharbour Camera Club to help improve my photography and I'm currently the vice president of the club. I am now working towards my first solo exhibition at the Old Fire Station in December 2017, after being a part of many group exhibitions in Kiama, Wollongong and Sydney.
