Start with C is an earth-shattering tale based around the “Brewarrina riots” of 1987 when PM Hawke created the Indigenous Deaths in Custody Royal Commission. It’s a sensational upside-down murder mystery Down Under asking “Who is the murderer?” “Who has been murdered?” and “Who’s telling the tale?”

The Author visited Brewarinna in 1977, a few years before events sparked national and international outrage. On his visit he met its colourful characters and surveyed the town spirit, later inspired to write this cathartic tale.

The Author donates his royalties to the Indigenous Literary Foundation, who distribute books to outback communities to encourage a love of reading and learning.
